    ... loved it. We stayed there for several hours, walking about and seeing the sights. There were lots of people lining up at the banks while we were there too. Queues of locals getting out cash from ATMs while the banks were closed. Lots of shops were asking for cash only purchases too. Not sure how this whole Greek/European Union thing is going to pan out, but I feel very sorry for the people who live here.

    The night before we chatted with some Americans visiting Heraklion for a medical conference. The day before they had gone to Knossos, the site of the famous Minoan palace.     Today was our last day in Turkey and an adventurous travel day. It started at 8am when we queued up for our 9am hydrofoil trip to Rhodes, Greece. 90 minutes later we were in the bustling harbor of Rhodes.
