... we ate, talked and drank some wonderful wines.

The show tonight was a comedian – Steve, Paula, Christopher and I went – and actually laughed. He was quite funny. Spared no one in the front row nor anyone who dared enter late. We all got a good laugh at their expense. Maybe they learned a lesson – never show up late when a comedian is on a roll!!

... rain, we did have umbrellas on us. But 500m down the road we realised the taxi needed to deviate down a tunnel rather than take our straight path and traffic was chaos and barely walking speed. So we gave her 5 Euro and bailed into the rain. So here we were wheeling suitcases, holding umbrellas, weaving in and out of traffic and through intersections looking for where our accommodation was. ... first Moussakka with grilled haloumi as a side. Mel tried cheese pies but did not like them, they were a bit too sweet. So she just stuck with the garlic bread. The owner was very friendly and gave us a cheesecake type desert and some raki to finish. Raki is a digestive the waiter told me, in other words it's alcohol that can dissolve the food you just ate. It certainly did burn and warm the tummy on the way down. Great way to finish our last night in Greece. Rome bound ...

Today the plan was to drive down to Ierapetra and get the boat over to Chrisi Island, the southern most part of Europe before Africa. We arrived in town, bought our tickets for 10 Euro each and found a place to have brekky before departure. However as departure time arrived we were informed that our boat had been cancelled due to rough seas. Even though the last boat to leave has half the size, Greek logic.
