... so we are hoping to do some sightseeing of the area over the next couple of days. Luckily we had a waiter from the resort that is from that area of Thessaloniki, who gave us some places to eat and sights to see.

We have met some very nice people along the way, both Britts and Greeks who have given us good advice on what to see and do. The food has been good but not spectacular. ...

... petro station which was about 300 meters away, up a hill...just as we neared the top of the hill the engine dies! Thinking we are out of gas, Dave grabs a 1 L water bottle and heads to get some petro...he puts it in and the thing doesn't work, dead battery...so he runs back to the rental place and they come up and jump us get us to the gas station and we are off...the next 24 hrs go quite well with no mishaps...this is by far the best way to see a place.

Sunday we took a boat tour around the island, 7 hours with multiple stops and secluded beaches for swimming. The water is still quite cold so only the hardy swim...obviously not us! The boat was filled with many Britts and American students on semester abroad. The scenery was incredible, many caves, rock arches and distant islands. ... more restaurants and hotels are built. I am sure we won't recognize the place.


It is a touristy area full of restaurants and cafes, studios and a couple of hotels. A popular destination, and the beach is sandy with some pebbles.

It is indeed more beautiful now, very different from how it was years back.
