    ... Harbor for yet another shared lobster BLT and then returned to the park to drive the 27-mile scenic loop. We stopped at San Beach and waded in the Atlantic Ocean and then drove to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. Standing at a proud 1,530-foot elevation, Cadillac Mountain offers expansive views over Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island.

    The cold wind chased us off of the mountain and back to the conclusion of our scenic tour.

    Once our walk was over, our legs stretched about as much as they could take, we drove up to Cadillac Mountain to take in the views of Bar Harbor from above.     From Sand Beach we walked along Ocean Trail for almost a mile toward Thunder Hole. Along the way, we stopped and walked out onto the enormous rocks overlooking the ocean.     ... lakes and a Mountain! The beach is a surprise as it is a great sheltered bay with a wide white sandy beach. Would be fantastic on a hot sunny day! Lots of Lookouts on the rocky coast drive! Highlight is the drive up Cadillac Mt which is 1,700 ft and offers a 360 degree view of Maine as far as you can see. By now the sun is out in full force and we have a picnic lunch at the top ...
