... a lot longer than i expected. The ticket was $40, which was far more than worth it for the value you received. They were competing against the Boston Red Soxs. It was a very close game but the Yankees turned up with a win in the end with a 33-27 win. This was by far one of the best sporting events i had ever been apart of.

... was on the big screen, the team mascot (eagle maybe) delivered 2 glasses of bubbles. They’re big on public displays of emotion over here, with lots of cheese.

Interestingly when they first started building skyscrapers in the 20's, one caught fire and the NYFD rushed to the site, only to realise they didn't have equipment to put out the fire on the 30th floor. So they stood around splashing water on the bottom two stories while the whole city came out to watch ...

Today is Mother's Day. Mim missing the kids, but we are going to have an exciting day, exploring the lower reaches of Manhattan Island.

We wandered down Broadway, past lots of sights, including a resturant for Explorer's and Mad Scientists, naturally named, Jekyll and Hyde. Then we walked further until we reached the site of the World Trade Centre.

... to regret that decision, there was still so much to do in Manhattan! We had a bit of a rest after unpacking and then walked up to the Brooklyn Flea on Lafayette Ave. Lots of vintage clothing, some new stuff but the prices were a bit steep for us so we didn’t buy anything but the food was a different story.
