Well I had to get in a reference to Sting and the Police somehow... I slept through my alarm yesterday morning on account of staying out late and choosing to update my blog then. I was even later back last night so I literally crawled into bed when I arrived at 1.20am. But let's start at the beginning. ... the Union Square area. We took the Subway to get there, and I think New York wins (over London, Paris and Rome) for heat, bumpiness and congestion... Not a pleasant experience at all (although it is Friday night). Momofuku was brilliant - it is an Asian-Fusion sharing style, kind of similar to King of Snake in Christchurch, but probably a bit more fine-dining. Tomorrow we will do Wall Street end of town, and hopefully the Staten Island ...

... Avenue. Organic produce all beautifully presented, with small tables and one large communal table in the middle of the cafe. Nice.

From there it was a very small hop to Grand Central Station which is always worth a visit.
Jette loves Art Deco, so the morning was a wander down Madison Avenue admiring the various Art Deco doorways and buildings along the way, starting with Grand Central station with its ornate metalwork, enormous chandeliers ...

... we make one last stop at Melt so I can pick up a Mortica - my fave chocolate ice cream sandwich. Perfect way to end our NYC trip.

What can I say, I still love love love NYC and its still my favourite city. I am so glad that I was able to show my beloved around of my favourite city. Its been great to share all the cool things I love the city with him and I can say that I have visited Lady Liberty for the last time in my life! Til next time New York, we will miss your vibe and energy.

Today I spent literally the whole day at the Met(ropolitan Museum of Art), one of the world's great museums, if you haven't heard (or been there) ... and I really didn't see anywhere near all of it. That would take several days at least ... but I did see all of the stuff I most wanted to see, as well as some new galleries that weren't there (or weren't open ... or were arranged differently) the last time I was there.
