It's been a little quiet on the blog front, but I have been out and about the place! Decided I like Trastevere and consider it the best neighbourhood I have found in Rome and it's not too far away from here either! A friend from Whyalla lived in Trastevere and showed Georgina and I around when we were here in 2007. Linda was living here and Georgina looked her up and it was such a delightful experience meeting Linda! I think of Linda now as I walk her ...

The Pantheon The Pantheon is a building in Rome, Italy, commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus as a temple to all the gods of ancient Rome, and rebuilt by the emperor Hadrian about 126 AD. There were families and children everywhere with balloons and playing Giant Jenga and doing craft with what looked ...

... Peter's square was unbelievable! Once we returned to ground level, we watched part of the Holy Mass that was taking place and then we went down to the Vatican Necropolis where there are tombs. Once we left Vatican City it was time for dinner. We headed to Lo Scopettaro which was recommended by David, our tour guide from yesterday. It was the BEST meal of this whole trip! The pasta was amazing and they had wine by the pitcher! We hope to make one more trip there before we ...

... here are very nice and welcoming. We ate pizza at the local pizzeria and found a place to do our laundry. It was "self serve" but they took it out of our hands and did it all for us. We will go back on Friday as I'm sure we will have more dirty clothes before we head off to Venice. We are now tucked into bed, comfortable and feeling quite at home here. We have two tours tomorrow. One of the Colosseum and the other the catacombs. When in ...
