We are back at the AKA. Our fifth visit. Another great room, although different to last time. There's a new gym, new lounge area but our friends from our past five visits staffing the front door and desk. It's great to be back.

Superbe appartement dans une rue agréable, tout près de Times Square et Broadway. Personnel très aimable et serviable.
Petit bémol, la vaisselle est réduite à son strict minimum.

After what seemed like an eternity, well maybe 28 hours, we made it to out home away from home, the AKA, in NYC. Just off Times Square, this little piece of bliss away from the hustle and bustle is perfect. We made it to our room at around 1.30am and pretty much collapsed into bed. 30 night of NYC ahead of us. Let the adventure begin, tomorrow...

Friday night was fun and Saturday spent doing a variety of things, mostly nothing. Shopping, a little meandering and generally soaking up NYC. The 911 memorial and museum was visited by few and from all accounts awesome. Dinner at Mortons last night and a couple of photos attached. We have now officially started the handbag category for each blog. …

We booked a Studio Suite around 39th & 8th Avenue, it was an ideal location, 5 minutes from Times Square, Broadway & the Subway. As we checked in the first people we met were from Warrington, UK & they very kindly gave us their metrocard, so we had free rides for 5 days we were there!!

Once we figured out the subway, we became pros! It was so quick ...

... in with the bellman and then wait until later in the afternoon to get a room. Much to my surprise, the desk clerk handed us keys for our room on the 33rd floor. I guess all of my Marriott points do pay off periodically.

We placed our bags in our room. Leslie notified Hillary we were at the hotel. She arranged to meet them downstairs so we could get some coffee and breakfast.

Once together, we all four set out ...

... dinner I went next door to another local place called Brooklyn Victory Garden. Of course, they specialize in local and sustainable meats and cheeses and have a variety of baked goods. I asked the kid behind the counter for the best dessert they make. He gave me a chocolate whoopie pie filled with fresh homemade whipped cream. That might have been the best whipped cream I've ever tried. These people in Brooklyn might be on to ...
