Flying in to San Diego, you come in low right over and between buildings.....more of that later. ... Kate in Balboa Park. We were joined by cousin Lynn. The dinner was great. Kiss me Kate was at the Old Globe Theater which is modeled after Shakespeare's in London. It is an impressive venue and the show was excellent with top notch performances. It's too bad we don't have time to explore Balboa Park it's called the nations largest urban cultural park with museums, gardens, restaurants, etc.

... along the cheerfully named Sunshine Highway we stopped for fantastic vistas from 2,000 - 4,000 feet through valleys and canyons where the forest stopped abruptly, giving way to desert mountain plains. With the Mexican border just 10 miles south of San Diego, we were able to see the mountains of Mexico in the distance. The town of Julian is itself a reminder of the mining boom days of the 1860s. ... We headed for the repair shop at 7:30 AM, Sini following in the Jimmy, as the shop opened up at 8:00. They had a few other jobs to take care of first but were able to start troubleshooting our problem around 8:30. It was going to take a while so this was a good time for us to run some errands and have breakfast at the Garden Café, which came highly recommended by Tank and Doreen. I had delicious eggs, local spicy sausage, and homemade blueberry muffin ...
