Let’s start with the Bruce Highway named after a Bruce somebody who was most probably married to a Sheila, however no highway was named after her! It runs from Cairns to Brisbane, or vice versa depending on which way you’re heading and is a total of 1,700kms. It is linked with the Cook Highway to the North (named after good ol’ ...

We had planned to get to Noosa a day earlier than we did but we were silly enough not to book our hostel for Noosa before we went to Castaway. So we were on the coach for 12 hours travelling to Noosa and we spent that time just panicking and ringing round hostels hoping that they would have some cancellations. When we got off the bus at Noosa I was on the phone to hostels, still praying that they had beds free for the night ...

... through the Lonely Planet for the answers before a sign told us if we were right or wrong a couple of kilometres further down the road. Other than that, the only other pastimes on some of the longer sections of highway are spotting squashed kangaroos and figuring out where the house is for the letterbox and driveway you've just passed. As one of the Aussies' cheeky signs pointed out en route, "There's still a long way to go, ...

... each day now as we head into Summer! I'm excited about the next few months to see where life takes me. I'm not where I expected to be by the time I turn 30, but I'm in hell of a good place! I really can't complain. Every thing in the last few years, which for me, have been the most difficult ones in my life, has led me to where I am today. And I'm honestly pretty happy :-)

I miss you all though ;)
