... to leave it till last as it was only a couple of blocks from our hotel. They had some amazing cakes, we both brought a small one each, they were amazing, but we couldn't eat them all, we should have shared. I still hadn't been sleeping well and was pretty tired so we headed back to the hotel to pack. Oh dear way too much shopping, but somehow we managed to squeeze it all in. ... 13 years ago. I was up early in the hope that Ashleigh would get a little lie in and would be ready to go somewhere else by the time I return. I arrived at the memorial site around 8am. Apart from a few security guards and armed police hanging around, I had the whole place to myself. ... worked. It feels very much like a cricket test match with lots of distractions happening in between innings and people going for the vibe and not necessarily because they are fans of the game. We tried to follow it closely to understand what was going on but for the most part was uneventful with after 7 innings only 3 runs having been scored by the Rays and none by the Yankees. The last innings however was very exciting though, with the Yankees down 3 with 2 men ...

... dismantled. Wandered over to Central Park and happened to enter through Engineer's Gate - very appropriate!. Kit and I went to "Top of the Rock" - 71 floors. Amazing views!
