    ... was a nice tiny walled in cemetery on the cliff edge. Unfortunately the WWII bomb shelter was closed, so we weren’t able to explore that, but we did look in the Mellieħa Parish Church and have some delicious lunch in a nearby café. I tried the traditional Maltija pizza with Maltese sausage on it. Yum! The boys indulged in some Maltese Cisk beer.

    Next stop was the highlight of the day called the Blue Grotto. We are now on the other side of Malta which is well known for scuba diving. You get off and walk down to the water at the bottom of a steep road. Here you get aboard a small outboard and they take you out and around to caves.     After a leisurely start to the day, we hopped on our obligatory open top bus to the port of Sliema and took a two hour cruise around the harbours of Sliema and Valetta. There are shitloads ( sorry but that's the term the guide on the ferry used ) of fortresses built up around the harbour.
