... the afternoon falling over. It had been a while.
For the last few days we have been up at the ski hills, getting better everyday and absolutely loving it. Keystone is huge, with the gondola taking 10 minutes to reach the top of the run. We've had some big falls but keep coming back each day and doing it again.
We've been camping on the fringe of town and it's starting to get cold. It's expected to get as low as -15 degrees by the end of the week which should be interesting!

We crossed the Rockies over independence Pass with ...

Very pristine environment above the tree line. Not a good place to be in the middle of winter.....
Beautiful views and the Aspen trees just beginning to change colour as winter approaches....

... nights and had a very relaxing and comfy time even though the beavers had abandoned the lake in favor of one higher up in the hills. We sat on the porch and watched the lake and the hummingbirds that came to check out our travel mascot, Steve. Steve is a bright red parrot that carries a sign reading, "It's Five O'clock Somewhere."

We walked around the lake one day and the next day we took a 4WD trip back into the foothills and ...
