We headed off this morning, driving from Jasper to Banff. However, we stopped on the way through at heaven on earth. We stopped at the Athabasca Glacier. Thinking that we were just stopping for a look around and a photo moment I wore a jumper, legans and a pair of sneakers. We awakened on the 4th of July to a clear, warm and wonderful morning for a helicopter ride to Mount Assinbione Glacier. Somehow, we'd been up too late the night before, so even the temptation of a helicopter ride was not enough to get Greg jumping out of bed. On Monday I went to the Banff Recreation Centre for an information day which had a number of stalls advertising services and activities in the town and area. I managed to pick up some info on a cheap shuttle service that goes between Banff and Canmore as well as a few of the hiking trailheads in the Bow Valley which just started up.
