... of the 2?!?? It's not. There MAY be a few similar words, such as thank-you and hello but when it comes down to verbs, it doesn't translate over easily. Our grocery shopping experience at the quiet local Italian pasterria became an epic game of hand gestures, 4 languages and an urgent call on the local neighbour boy to come over and translate our conversation! It was great entertainment and everyone left with smiles. Our meal turned out to be a success, pesto and pasta is the way to ...

... myself and a drive to try harder making it to the top. We entered the pass at 800m and climbed to 1400m in about 6kms taking us about 2.5 hours. It was rather slow going. We were aiming to make it to the 1500m mark and call it a day, but we hadn't seen a sign posted in forever so we started looking for a good place to pull off and set up camp. We poked around a switchback and came across a perfect hiking/mountain biking trail that followed along side ...

Our plan is out the window, it is 1630 and we were both ready to call it a day. Feeling a bit trapped in our options, neither of us wanted to reallllllly start a climb back up the hills we just spent the day cruising down.  What's the worst that can happen? ...

... talk. "Will you get a f**king move on? We will be here all f**king day". Surprisingly this doesn't increase my tempo and after some shared jovial expletives we crawl up the horrible, pebbly tarmac in snail formation. Aussies Bruce and Mick are already outside the hotel and give us a pat on the back as even they had found the day so tiring they didn't try the extra col. Richie makes it up d'Izouard. Total respect.

... In a small village called Vallerio at Des Martin. This village was abandoned in the 50's & have recently been renovated to include refuges where hikers can stop for the night. We stayed in a apartment which has only been finished quite recently. The beautiful slate roofs & walls are an example of some excellent workmanship. We were able to witness milking time of the Alpine Grey & Montbelier cows which graze the mountain pastures. This is ...
