The drive up to Hokitika (skipping out on Mount Cook) promised the view of a couple of glaciers though they appeared to be remnants of what was...the sunset at Hokitika along the Tasman Sea more than made up for the ticket picked up earlier today.

Started with a walk up the Franz Josef Glacier. Rain earlier in the week (just 0.4 meters in 4 days!) had closed some paths so we could not get to the snow. Met back up with Kat, Sarah, Malin and Jonahs in Hokitika. Was great to see them again. We headed straight for Franz Joseph where they stayed at a hostel called Mount Rose. The kids running that place where the biggest *******s I've met down here. They just sucked at life. Really. Enough about that - I slept in the van anyways.

Well, it wasn't meant to be today. The weather was grey and misty and that's an understatement. We couldn't see the campervan next to us let alone the mountain on which we were hoping to take a helicopter trip.
