Well we got to France but not to Carcassonne. After seeing that the temperatures were going to be 35 today and 38 tomorrow in Carcassonne we decided to stay at the coast for a day until the temp drops by 10 degrees. I just picked a spot on the coast and we rocked up - to Heidy Hi! Or thats what it felt like. A huge camp ground and more expensive than the last. This was our last day of serious climbing and we have now dipped wheels and deposited Atlantic stones in the Meditarranean. It was a gorgeous day, and we set off as a group of five, Peter, who is feeling much better, Lori, Steve, Gilles and I. The major climb took us to the Col de Palomere at 1036 m. At the bottom of those cols, Steve and Gilles decided that they had expended their gas tanks, so I went on to do the Col de Jau myself. I made it to the top at 5:30 and had a nice run out to Prades. We had a dinner in a local pizza place which was excellent. I was so tired I could hardly see, and I do not think I was the only one.

... came across a dog just hanging out, lying down in the road. Very peculiar. Even the motorcycle that zipped by a moment later only just barely prompted him to get up and move. I doubted he was a stray from Valmanya, which was really too far back plus it was barely a town anyway. I offered him some water but he wasn't interested. A few minutes later Caroline came by in the van; we had a plan to meet on the route for lunch. She ...

... Spain our diet consists of lots and lots of olivas; olive oil, and tapas of shellfish, sausage, and hams . The water in the bay's are a most vivacious blue and fabulous to swim. Our time spent at Cala Joncols may well be the most beautiful time spent on this trip.
