It's cold outside. I am still very sleepy when I watch my mobile phone to turn off the alarm. I realize it's five o'clock in the morning, but suddenly I remember why my alarm was set on that hour. Today we are going to Bamberg! It will be a long and exhausting trip, but I will have lots of fun when I arrive, I keep thinking. I shouldn't waste more time. Our bus is leaving Girona at seven o'clock and I still have to do a half an hour way ...

... Jewish synagogue and ritual bath that date back to the 12thC, a time before the Jews of Besalu were persecuted, ghettoized and eventually expelled. We were able to wander all around the town I impeded, as we were the only visitors around..not much going on there at this time of year, but lovely to see, nonetheless!

... our breakfast on the porch, we headed out to the beach. The house we are staying at has bikes, so we each rode a bike to the beach. I have never wanted to ride a bike after this horrible ride to and from the beach! It was so so so so painful. The seat hurt my butt so badly. Even Fran complained, and he never complains about anything!
