Off to the coast this morning. The winds yesterday blew in some cloud which meant that the temperature was slightly lower. We went to St Cyprien first of all. It was like Southsea - gift shops, swimwear shops, restaurants and bars. The beach was ok, but not entrancing enough to stay. We moved up the coast to Canetti Plage. This was a much wilder ...

Another hot and sunny day. We left the 'car park' to move further up the coast. The landscape changes to a more tropical feel. Palm trees and flat countryside is the new scenery. It's been a hot day and the wind doesn't cool it down. Tomorrow we will go to the ...

... lunch and enjoying the beach whilst the kids got to know each other. It turns out one of our neighbours had set up a tightrope, so the kids enjoyed trying that while Simon took his own personal tour of the campsite. We would meet up again a couple of days later in Collioure for some fishing with homemade rods and a walk round the town, which was beautiful. We even had time for a dip - the ...

... Canigou, meaning 'the dog's tooth peak', is the last high summit of the eastern part of the Pyrenees. It is the spiritual home to the Catalan people of both the French Catalan and Spanish Catalonia regions. The story goes that they must live where they can keep the peak in sight. This ethnic culture is strong in the Roussillon part of France, and signage is typically seen in both French and the Catalan language. It is believed that there are ...
