      ... or playing fields, they have been green. Springfield Station was quite sparse. There was a waiting room (you'd need it in winter) with toilets and a chocolate vending machine. But that's about it. Ian reckoned Wellington (NSW) station was prettier. Well our next train was only about 40 minutes late so I suppose in Amtrak terms, that's not late!       Six and 1/2 hour drive...not too bad. we stayed on the American side which is a state park. Lots of walking but we hopped a trolley cuz we got totally lost. Beautiful grounds but lots of construction going on. We were able to get real close to the falls from this side. Canadian side is more manicured and has lots of shops and restaurants. There were fireworks right outside our bedroom window that looked like they were coming right at us. ...
