Yesterday morning, sadly we had to depart from the deluxe Walmart RV resort in Rock Springs, Wyoming. It's very popular and campers are limited to one night. From there we headed for Yellowstone. Around 1:00 we stopped in Jackson. If you're reading this, you probably already know that part of the big adventure plan is to find out where we want to …

Trip to Mack's Inn Resort

... take a few of the RV spots and make them camping spots. You can even see on one of the pictures that these were RV/Camp sites. I kind of doubt that anyone really camps in these spots.

So we went back to the office to inquire if this was really where they expected us to camp, and they ended up having a “cabin” that was available for the two nights. The resort actually has cabins, but our “cabin” ...

This must be one of the better campgrounds, based on our watching the activities going on. There were families everywhere, doing things together. We entertained ourselves by watching the kids play and imagining how our kids would have liked the bicycles, the playground, and the swimming pool.
The camp was well maintained, and the staff was friendly. There was food for sale. Breakfast was good, but the barbecued ribs were something special.
Overall, it was not a bad experience except for one thing. There was no internet in the camping areas. I understand it's a remote area and connections can be spotty but if you can't provide the service, don't advertise that you do. It's aggravating to expect a service and find that it isn't available. After having this experience at two campgrounds, we wonder if that's the norm. The rest of our trip will be in motels.
