Hey hey boo boo! Jellystone day 1

A travel blog entry by chrisleslie

Natures Disneyland:Yellowstone we have arrived. I expected it to be crowded but this is cu-razy. We had an early-ish start from our campground at 8:30 which after traveling through the west entrance put us near the Old Faithful area at 9:30. Needless to say this place is massive and we are not even going to see 1/100th of it.

Our 1st Day inside Yellowstone

A travel blog entry by bodeenstravels

We are on our way to Old Faithful making many stops along the way. We packed our lunch to eat inside the park, saw our first bison and elk. We knew when traffic stopped ahead of us there would be something to see. Old Faithful made us wait for her to blow, and we waited amongst people from all over the country and world. We heard many different …

Yellowstone, we are HERE

A travel blog entry by bodeenstravels

We arrived at the KOA yesterday afternoon in time to set up camp and then go into the town of West Yellowstone to visit the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. Sammie and Josh were "Keeper Kids" and had lessons about the bears and what they eat, then they were able to go into the outdoor bear playground and hide food for the bears. When all the kids …

Yellowstone Day 2

A travel blog entry by sanjose222

We were up at 5 AM and got into the park before sunup.
The main attractions in the park are found along a figure-8 road that connects to all of the entry gates. We followed this road, stopping at anything that interested us. Most of our time was spent on the lower half, since this is where most of the geysers, etc are located.
The upper …

A nice place

This must be one of the better campgrounds, based on our watching the activities going on. There were families everywhere, doing things together. We entertained ourselves by watching the kids play and imagining how our kids would have liked the bicycles, the playground, and the swimming pool.
The camp was well maintained, and the staff was friendly. There was food for sale. Breakfast was good, but the barbecued ribs were something special.
Overall, it was not a bad experience except for one thing. There was no internet in the camping areas. I understand it's a remote area and connections can be spotty but if you can't provide the service, don't advertise that you do. It's aggravating to expect a service and find that it isn't available. After having this experience at two campgrounds, we wonder if that's the norm. The rest of our trip will be in motels.
