... we had only been pulled over twice since entering Yellowstone 5 days ago) because he let us go with only a few cautionary words. We eventually found our way to Lewis Lake Campground after only a 20 mile detour, having missed the turn off and driven half way to Grand Teton. We pitched our tent amidst a multitude of imaginary ravenous eyes and I fell asleep listening to Jesse read the section about Grand Teton National Park from our "Lets Go USA" guide book.

Equipped with rental car, we blow past bison (hahaha, kidding, we sit in traffic again) but this time follow the crowds to Old Faithful. The boys are now working on their young scientist patch -- the booklet is taking them through ...

... geval geslaagd. Nog geen 15 minuten in park en we zagen al onze eerste bizons langs de weg. En de geisers van Old Faithfull, ok ze stinken wel een beetje (erg), maar het ziet er fantastisch uit. We hebben ook al een tal van elanden gezien. Morgen maar eens zien of we een beer kunnen spotten, vanuit de auto dan.

We hebben nog twee dagen Yellowstone voor de boeg, jippie! Nu weer lekker slapen :)

... Snow Lodge and made dinner reservations at the Obsidian Dining Room. The dining room was rather fancy and it took awhile until we were able to be taken. I selected cheese ravioli from the menu and to be honest it was one of the worst meals I ate in the park. It was very dried out and hard and such a tiny portion for the price we paid. I'd recommend going to the grill to eat.

After dinner we returned to the room ...

... next to a beautiful and deserted lake. We decided better just to leave all of our toiletries and food in the car, so as to avoid attracting bears, which seemed to be a big concern in Yellowstone. The hike from the car to the campsite was only about ¾ of a mile, so it was totally doable. Luckily, that night, though colder, was much drier than the last, and we were able to get about ten hours of sleep! Win for the bags under my eyes. ...
