... an hour later than planned. It was hard saying goodbye not only to the teens, but to everyone at Restart. We really had a great time there and met some amazing people. We got to Chris's house a little early for dinner, so we hung out at a nearby elementary school playground to relax and enjoy the weather. Then we went to Chris's lovely house for a pizza dinner and good conversation. It was nice to review the week and also hear more about Chris and his life. We ...

      Restart Day 4

A travel blog entry by marysizemore on Mar 12, 2015

We awoke to a freshly baked quiche and pancakes in which we stuck in a birthday candle for Tiffani :) we headed out to Restart where we began with the donation rooms, this time with the men's donation room. With only an hour of work we got it all almost sorted out. Then we headed downstairs to serve lunch. I ate with Robin again today which was nice because we got to go deeper than politics- she ...

They were basically like pulled pork in square form except better. There was literally no sauce needed for anything here but the regular BBQ sauce gave the meat a sweeter taste that sat easy on the palate and went down smoothly. The spicy sauce was the same except for a slight kick that began about halfway ...

Menu Item: Ribs & Brisket Plate with Spicy Slaw

Notes: Today was one of the first days after they changed their name from Oklahoma Joe's to Joe's Kansas City

Comments: Best ribs I've ever eaten. They had a unique taste unlike anything I've ever tasted before. The dry rub on them was perfect. The meat just fell off the bone and was extremely tender. The tender, medium cut brisket had an initial smoky bite to it ...

... there. And since I was up for breakfast… I opened up Oswald Chamber’s My Utmost For His Highest devotional. Today he talked about knowing Christ in the power of his resurrection, that if you know he had the power to rise from the dead, your mind should be blown by his limitless power. He controls weather patterns, flight times, traffic times, who happens to be driving the car, layovers, etc… Who knows what divine tapestry ...
