It's a predominantly muslim area and the people could not have been nicer, the same smiles and wonderful experience I had 4 years ago. It was that experience that assured my return.
And so back to school next week, it's a great feeling going back to something you really want to do, instead of something you have to or are supposed to do............

... 52 islands, of which this island - Ko Lanta Yai - is just one. Some of the surrounding islands are inhabited. Ko Lanta Yai was previously known by the Malay name "Pulau Sa-Tuk" meaning "island with a long mountain range", but in 1917 the King of Thailand officially named the island Ko Lanta, and the archipelago as Ko Lanta District. I would recommend renting mopeds for a day and just exploring the island and all of its beautiful beaches and just nice scenery to drive through. my advice, for those who dont mind getting their buzz on, is to go to monkey bar on Klong Khong beach and ask for some jungle juice. The bar itself is an awesome place to spend the day with incredibly fun ...

... of home back to our hotel. Carl and I had bought tinsel and Christmas lights and Mel had bought the wrapping paper. Next stop was to find something half decent that we could carry on our travels without it taking up the whole rucksack. Well we all agreed that this was almost impossible with the amount of junk that Thai people try to sell to you its far from easy to find anything that's remotely good quality so we thought we would add a little jingle to ...

... up to collect us and deliver us to Pearl Lanta Resort. We were pleased with the bamboo hut and hammock. The resort has loads of space and is 2 minutes from the beach. Lanta feels very relaxed after Phi phi. Our hotel is on Long Beach and for good reason. The beach is very, very long. Luckily we're right in the middle and the beach bars and restaurants are huddled around that area. It's much quieter than Phi phi but the bars are cool ...
