    ... to sit and chill out. We went for a walk through the woods to the lake, realising we had our sandles on and would never have dared such a walk in Australia with all those 'things' that might get us. We saw a few squirrels and a cute little chipmunk. Surprise find - chipmunks make a lot of noise in a quiet forest. They could be mistaken for a bear Traveller's tip - go to Brattleboro and stay 40 Putney Road for a day or two to ...

    So, this is IT! We are "ready" (I put quotations around the word ready because planning a 6ish week long road trip with three kids - can one truly really be 100% ready?). Tomorrow morning we leave bright and early for Niagara Falls, destination #1. Everyone is excited (and nervous) the house is secure, "see you laters" have been said, and we will be off on our adventure to see America!  Tomorrow!! ...

    ... time has been spent packing, cleaning, organizing, finishing up school and work, more packing, finishing grad school stuff, making reservations, more cleaning, and more packing. Not too exciting yet.

    We have spent the past few months thinking that this trip will be either totally amazing, or the worst experience of our lives (honestly, I bet it will depend on the day) and we will not know how it will go until it is too late!

    Ack! We leave in a week!!!
