... they did at particular points along the river. Some included jumping out of their raft onto a rock and then doing a flip of the rock, or running along rock walls. Our guide at one point jumped on a rock and flipped back to a sitting position in the boat, pretty impressive!! We also got to ride on the front of the raft like a bull. This turned out to be much trickier than it seems and ended with me and another girl piled on ...

Got on the road this morning about 9:45 due to some paperwork and household issues. Nice day of riding down US 72 across north Mississippi and Alabama and on into Chattanooga arriving at Davied's about 5:30 local time (Eastern time zone). Stopped for gas twice on way over and had lunch in Decatur, AL. Weather was pretty nice with some clouds and temps in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Not perfect but much better than the upper 90s ...

We camped only about 5 minutes from home at Doll Mountain. Had visits from neighbors (David, Brenda, Dot, Chrys, Bernie) and Tennessee friends, Sonny & Mary Beth. Claudia was able to go home each day to feed the cats. I was able to do some cleaning and fine tuning of ...

... flow so nicely through the river. There were many small cascades and a
lot of healthy moss along the way. After a mile we reached the falls. Amicalola
was over 700 feet tall and very impressive to see. The falls did not crash
straight down 700 feet, they stretched through sections of rock, splashing and
pouring down as multiple cascades. Now
the fun part: 600 steps to the top! After a quick debate, we were all in. A few
breaks to catch our breath, we made it to the ...
