... tired and sore during the last 5 miles, which descended 2,400 feet. We camped out a mile from the Nantahala Outdoor Center, planning on hiking in to it in the morning for breakfast and then just going 7 miles for the day. The weather cooperated as we travelled along, temperature rising from 16 to 24. The clear blue skies would be perfect when we reached the Smokey Mountains.
