Amazing place covered in coconuts shells and hammocks, all constructed with wash up from the tsunami. Nice staff, and good restaurant.

Most of my time on the island was spent on the beach. This included being knocked over by a powerful wave whilst I walked with my camera, in front of a busy beach bar. Luckily my camera survived.

I also went to a beach party which involved a pretty scary ride back to the hostel on back of a scooter during a thunderstorm.

Day 12: Koh Phi Phi to Krabi

Leaving Koh Phi Phi seemed to come abruptly. This is particularly because it involved jogging with our backpacks to catch the ferry. Our morning started off at a lazy pace. We checked out of our very sandy hostel room and meandered over to one of the many massage stores on the island. A quick aside about the island...I've seen many locals wearing shirts that say "same same" on the front and "but different" on the back. Apparently this is from ...

... and fed them water! Afterwards they were pretty battered so I had to play nurse and run to the shop to pick up some new bandages to patch them up! All part of the experience though! I've been tempted to try scuba divining and in phi phi there was an option to do a 'discover diving' trip where you can just go and dive in the sea without having to do the full PADI to see if you like it. It's really good value as you get a ratio of one to one with the instructors that look after ...

... a choppy ride back to Lanta, which was at least 45 minutes away even in good conditions... We set off into the choppy water and immediately the rain came... We had, inevitably, ended up in our original seats - the ones that were the only ones in full sunlight earlier in the day. Well, now they were the only ones fully exposed to the waves. And the rain. We got utterly and completely drenched. Huddled behind our towels, we just laughed as the sea and the clouds let loose on ...
