... Trying to out-remember each other on the happenings in that movie took up the next twenty minutes of our trip! ... along the rail line. It was extensively reworked to make a more comfortable ride for modern day passengers. The car is equipped with clear drop-down curtains for rain and wind...which was to come in handy later.

According to their brochure, this train depot was built in 1893 and looks today much the way it did then.The building has the usual small waiting room, ticket office, and freight rooms that were part of almost all depots of that period. ...

... took a walk to get in some exercise. All in all we are doing OK with the altitude but we have both discovered that we definitely get a little "puffy" if we try to walk at the same speed we are in the habit of going at home (8100 ft. elevation here). Having said that, it still felt good to get out and walk in this beautiful area. We seem to be adapting more each day which is a good thing.

... Springs Resort - Spent the afternoon and evening trying out the 23 different temperature hot mineral pools terraced along the San Juan river. The little pool right next to the river was the perfect place to watch the sunset. Could it get any better than this!
