First thing this morning we went to the rally hall here in the campground and had Saturday breakfast before loading up in The Big Red Truck and headed towards Pagosa Springs which lies in the San Juan Valley. On the way out of town we pulled into a local campground that had the remains of a cabin on property that was used as the cabin that Sparky Griswold and his family, along with Aunt Edna, rented in the Chevy Chase ...

We woke to another fantastically beautiful day. That seems to be a pattern this week...clear, blue skies in the morning leading to sporadic afternoon showers...more on the "showers" later! The Big Red Truck pulled up at our door at 9:30, and we were off to meet up with Denver & Rio Grande Railroad for a trip down memory lane from South Fork to Wagon Wheel Gap.
