      Wawona - unfortunate timing

We loved the location of Wawona campground - just out of the touristy area but close enough to not be an inconvenience to get to. The south fork of the Merced River runs past the campground, which is lovely. Unfortunately, we were there when they were having some trouble with the toilet block, so that wasn't great. But sh*t happens... :)

It would be great if the shuttle came out to the campground (it doesn't). And there isn't much privacy between sites, i.e. none but otherwise we were pretty happy with our stay.

... lake but there was no water there, all dried up, quite disappointing. It would be good to be informed of this. We were not the only ones, others brought their towels hoping for a swim. We did the drive around the valley floor and stopped to eat our lunch by the creek.

Left the valley floor of Yosemite and headed back to Mariposa via ...
