... und die WCs bereits geschlossen: Closed for the Season. Toll!
Luxus pur!
... that they declined the obligatory cavity search (eeeewww). After this little experience, we got to the Four Corner's Park after a quick fill-up on gas and it is wonderful. We spent quite a bit of time there and shot a lot of pictures. The folks of Madawaska are VERY FRIENDLY and love bikers.
We got to the Post Office to send our documents in and met Glenn Bailey there. He is a retired postal worker and offered to shoot our picture. It ...

Here is the link to see progress as I go. It may take a little bit of
time for new points to be established, but hopefully it should work. :-)

Well, I'm at the point where it is as it is. Packing is done and what I
don't have I'll pick up somewhere or do without. I mean, if I forgot
it, how important can it be ;-) Now the bus to Boston, then a flight to
Atlanta, and then the big one to Jo'burg - non-stop. Hey, it is as it
is, remember?
I have a miniature book of Shankara - the one I always
travel with, and the netbook has a 4.5hr music playlist of my

... do list that is growing more than shrinking, though it's not a worry... yet. So far, so good. One mild negative that cropped up was everybody's desire to pick me up at the airport in Jo'burg. Thing is, I'd already made arrangements I thought were most practical in that my friend who lives 10 minutes from the airport will do the deed. It took some sway here and there, and assuring the others that it is really not ...
Buxton, Maine, United States humananda... we can make a quick stop at the Cozy Moose store to buy some Moose Poop earrings. I swear I am not making this up. People actually make jewelry out of Moose Poop. If you have ever wanted to own a conversation piece this is it. Our destination is the most remote wilderness I have ever found in my 15 years of wilderness exploration in Maine. We will spend the next three days camping on land owned by ...
3rd Machias Lake, Maine, United States fredchristman... pulls, art bazaars and the massive parade that announces the final weekend of the festival. The parade is one of the biggest I've seen, and I've managed to attend it on several occasions. The funny thing is that the turnout for this festival is bigger than that you'd find for any annual parade held in Maine's largest ...
Fort Fairfield, Maine, United States msouliere... Park Loop Road and made many stops along the way. I enjoyed Sand Beach on the Atlantic Ocean. Later I stopped at Little Hunters Beach, a beach with no sand, but tons of granite rocks. Cliffs and trees surrounded both beaches. I sat along some cliffs that plunged down into the Atlantic. I drove to the peak of Cadillac Mountain (1,530 feet) to ...
Acadia National Park, Maine, United States exploreamericaStopped at Seboes River campsite on road to Baxter State Park and did some birdwatching and then a watercolor sketch. Entered Baxter State Park at Matagamon entrance. All campsites taken so I had to figure out where I could stay without leaving the park. Noticed work road that led to gravel pit and stayed there for the night. Mt. Katahdin is in the park, the highest point in Maine and I am planning to make the hike up.
