... ago. We went on the Foothills Parkway around the West side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We jumped on 321 in to Townsend and entered the GSMNP on Little River Road. We went to Gatlinburg rather than the planned stop in Pigeon Forge because of our late start and the threat of rain. Gatlinburg is a unique and interesting town: almost like a beach town/boardwalk minus the beach, but not very biker friendly. Parking is awful and some lots don't allow motorcycles and you ...

... were a number of twisty passes and challenging exciting riding to I-81. The pictures tell the story. In Pigeon forge, what once was a cow path is a busy honkytonk of amusement and hotel/motel/restaurants and fun. Dolly World isn't even visible from the main drag. We ended up in the historic part of Sevierville which is in the old downtown. I told Cheryl it reminded me of Mayberry, only smaller. There was a large, old building prominently visible from the highway as we entered downtown so we drove by to see what it was.

When we reached the building, we parked alongside and got out with Harley. There were no signs on or around the building saying what it was, but we thought it looked like a ...

    A Day in Gatlinburg

    Monday, April 13

Monday morning we got up, had our morning coffee and discussed where we would spend the day. We elected to head out to Cades Cove but had no idea how to get there except to head toward Gatlinburg. I couldn't find any addresses for the Visitors Center so we just headed on. We finally found a Visitors Center (by accident) and went in. They directed us toward Cades Cove where we went to ...
