... Houston about 4:15 and going in was OK, but then we had to drive through and out. That put a crimp in our time, but not too badly. There was only one time when we actually had to stop. By the time we left Houston in the rear view, it was close to 6pm and getting dark, but we kept pushing on.
We arrived at Gulf Coast RV Resort in Beaumont about 7pm and had to hook up in the dark, but we did and got everything inside settled. Now it's time for a good night sleep.

... I was a nervous wreck by the time we got to the campground.
We are at Bishop’s Landing Resort in Willis, Texas. We have a beautiful view of Lake Conroe from our campsite. Normally there would be large beach area directly to the lake from the campground—but the lake is so high the beaches are under water. It is a nice campground, but everything in the area is wet and mushy.
... Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday tomorrow. The lake looks to be about the size of Flathead Lake or so. Lots of boat places and such. I'm sure that it really rocks in the warmer weather. It was only about seventy here today, which I'm sure the locals consider too cool for watersports. We did see several folks fishing from shore.
A few things that struck me enroute today. A first, and only in Texas: School Zone-Speed Limit 50 MPH. Another sign: ...
