We progressed through the tour by watching the various craftsmen working with the hot molten crystal, blowing the shape of the piece, checking for quality and flaws and finally watching more artisans etch each piece.

Had a lunch at the Playwright Restaurant sitting in the warmth of the sun--vegetable soup for me, potato leek soup for Janice. Soups have been outstanding.

It then enters the Lugduff Valley, where we began a steep climb up more than 600 wooden steps to a viewing point that overlooks Upper Lake. ... to the ruins of the priory and the old mill on the Kings River, and we had a nice, if drizzly walk around and back up to the car through the town of Kells. We drove by a couple of other ruins, and then headed over to Thomastown for dinner at Sol Bistro. Week 8:

Monday: Today I met the OT department at UCC and basically got interrogated by the Irish but, I thought I represented the QU OT department and America with poise so you're all welcome. Tonight we went to an old pub off the beaten track to listen to some traditional music. It’s really worth your while to go exploring because I found my new favorite spot to hang out (plus they gave free food).
