      Wow! What a wonderful year it's been, and it went so fast. From the wine route, beautiful coastline, and Bungy jumping in South Africa, to the temples, stupas, Buddhas, food, beaches, and wonderful people of SE Asia. Sorry, not many photos this time, we got lazy. We can honestly say we've seen something either new, wild, wacky, or inexplicable every single day. But always entertaining.       ... at the end of a canal is amazing - these VERY large birds come right up to you- with their huge bodies and 'back to front' knees... some of the neighbours feed them so they are used to people. We kept our distance from the water, as last week Connie spied a small alligator in the canal.

      ... Of the 150 or so guests, there were only about 6 other outsiders and ourselves….many spoke in their native tongue (Afrikaans)- guess it is much like the Kiwis getting together in Los Angeles ( my cousin Vicki started the NZ expat club there).
