We headed up 129 today and drove past the Cheoah Dam where The Fugitive was filmed. There wasn't really a good pull off to take pictures plus we were afraid it was going to rain and none of us wanted to do the Dragon in the rain. I took I 77 west to the tunnel which crossed into West Virginia and took SR-598 to Bluefield where you see the first great vista. 598 hits 19 s to Tazweil where Rt. 16 starts, "The Back of the Dragon". Wow what a ride. I followed 16 to Rt. 58 at the Log Cabin Store in the pictures. Rt. 58 was a surprise because I was expecting rolling curves and country riding ...

Okay… It’s Cheryl now. While doing the two loads of laundry a lady came in to do the same thing. She is from Tennessee about 90 minutes from here. Her 12 year old daughter is playing in a softball tournament this weekend. I asked her how the town we were in was pronounced. Sevierville is pronounced like the word “severe” with ville ...
