We met the fire chief, Rob, who loves the circus and asked us lots of questions about our job. It’s so nice to hang out with folks who geek out about your job with you…Rob recommended a restaurant around the corner from the station, but also said the station was buying pizza that night and we were welcome to join them.

... an elderly couple watching tv in the lounge, we declared it a success...haha.

We drove to a big parking lot so that John could clean up...there was a bookstore in the plaza, so we checked it out, but it was one of those annoying "we only sell bestsellers" bookstores, so after a quick perusal, we left, had lunch in the RV, and drove straight to Mount Morris. It's just too hot to do anything right now....

The town was still a bit sleepy, so we didn't encounter that many folks who were ready to say good morning to a clown, but we did meet a woman on the sidewalk who told us she'd just moved there a week and a half ago and was utterly delighted to meet a real circus clown. Aw.

Site #65 - Illinois State Park with site water, electric, dump station.

This is a spacious campground that is very clean and well maintained. Friendly park staff and hosts. Nice trails from the campground and another set on the other part of the park. Surprisingly not very crowded.
