        Drop me in the water.

So from we left Munster and rode with our host Jill to Chicago. We didn't stay very long in Chicago itself. We went downtown along the lake then headed west towards St Charles where our host for the night lives. We met up with Marie's friend on the way. We cycled about 105km that day (65 ...

... and 64 Cuda, The owner Steve was real nice and gave us a tour. Dave P had a lot of questions about working metal and the English wheel. Steve showed us his English wheel and all the modifications he has done to it. It was the same model Dave has. Steve also gave Dave some pointers on shaping metal. Great find! today was a 208 mile day with only one U-turn. Slow day! I also started out hot and then as we drove north it cooled off. Good day. Steve can I mention ...

Tomorrow is a day off and we’re staying in Clinton until 6pm and then we’re driving to our lot in Elmhurst, Illinois. It’s 135 miles away so I think we’ll probably head out earlier. It’s also laundry day tomorrow which will be nice because we’ll have a show vehicle on a day off and we won’t have to worry about getting back in time for the first ...

Did I really want to see Chicago?

A travel blog entry by abagworth on Aug 29, 2014

        ... thank goodness.

After about two hours in searing heat we get out of Chicago and we stop. I get off the bike and nearly fainted, I was suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration. Two bottles of water and about 10 minutes later I was OK again.

Good to visit Chicago but not like that!

Another 100 miles and getting to the hotel, having a shower and then a couple of beers was very welcome indeed!!

It’s about dinner time so Bill drives up in the Pierce Arrow and off we go. We head to Warren, IL about 8 miles away and split a dinner and ice cream to top things off. When we get back Bill takes me for a ride in the '52 MG and then the ...
