    ... on the 2-1 defeat....but it was a good match and a great crowd and we followed it up in true English style by going for an indian meal in a funky restaurant that showed Bollywood movies while you ate, whilst sat on cushions on the floor.....slightly strange restaurant (The Indian House) but yummy food....we rolled out of there!!

    The US was not originally on our itinerary but, because we managed to get a cheap flight from Japan and needed LAX to connect to South America, a sojourn was a no-brainer.

    After a gruelling ten-hour flight and two bus journeys, we arrived in Santa Monica. It was the perfect place to unwind, recover from jet lag and get ready for our road trip along the Pacific Coast Highway.

    ... day. The day we went universal studios there were some fun shows like the animal show and they showed some tricks that they use for those movie animals to get into a movie. Also the special effects show. The family got to do a special thing in the show. We had to be on a pretend boat and they showed the green screen all the special effects the use in the movies. The Simpson ride was cool. It was a virtual roller coaster. It was a fun day. ...

    ... get over is is November and still so hot!. We actually arrived on the first night quite late but managed to negoitate the busy LA traffic with the Jeep 4x4 that we have rented and Ben's quality driving! By the time we got to out hotel at 11pm we were both exhausted but still managed to do some celebrity spotting- we saw Michael Imperioli (Chris in the Sporanos) going into the coffee shop next our hotel at 11.30pm at night ...

    ... rank and only waited about 10 minutes for one. As we were coming into peak hour morning LA traffic it took a little bit longer to get to our motel, Comfort Inn Santa Monica. We were able to check in and we even able to have breakfast. Not that Nanny and I were hungry after all the food they feed you on the plane.
