    ... was not too difficult, basically along the canyon so not too hard an elevation. Except for the short wrong turn we took which was basically straight up! Along the way there are a couple of ruins to see. Previous residences wiped out by fires in the canyon, only the foundations at brick walls/fireplaces remain of what were once beautiful home in the canyon. At the end of the hike was a waterfall.     Hired bikes today and set off from Fisherman's Village in Marina Del Rey, along the beach bike path to Santa Monica. On the way, we passed through the famous Venice Beach boardwalk with a host of tacky stalls, street entertainers and psychiatric patients wandering around - although, that may be due to 'The Green Doctor' shop!

    Yesterday Carl and Paola and us went to Universal City in particular Universal Studios. I was there as a kid in in 1973 and it was great then. It is even better now and we had a full day taking in all that this park has to offer, from the tour of movie sets and the overall back blocks to some of the other attractions we had a great time.     After discussing how we would've personally decorated the place we decided to head onwards.
