We drove into Santa Barbara and after walking along the sea front and up State Street decided that we could definitely move here....great little town!

The flight to Los Angeles is over. We did cross the International Date Line so it is still the 5th March and 2pm. We are now in a transfer lounge and cannot go into the airport to shop, eat or look around. That is a bit of a con because you have to pay your visa fee to the US Government to just sit in a glass box, only 20 metres away from our aircraft which is being refuelled. After we were exhausted from shopping we grabbed dinner at the food court and had Japanese where we also tried deep fried sushi for the first time. In the evening we went to see a guy called Julian Temple who
is from the area and was in a band that toured New Zealand when we were there
and got to see them twice. He was playing at a little café, really chilled and
not far from the beach. He didn't have his band with him ...
... coffee cups. Visited a little oasis in the middle of Uptown LA - the library. Beautiful, cool and tranquil gardens. Bit over riding the trains, busses and taxis now so it was a relief when we were able to pick up the Granny glides a day early in Marina Del Rey. Up the Pacific Hwy we rode along the coast through Pacific Palisades and onto Malibu. We all rode with t-shirts and my new open face helmet is great. Malibu is a bit of ...
