    ... in LA and we had a wonderful and interesting day. We started off at the origin of LA (where the Spanish settled when they first arrived there (right next to what is now China Town). We then drove through the impressive downtown district with it's skyscrapers and architecturally interesting cultural buildings. Next stop was the incredible tar pits where tar still bubbles to the surface and where there is a massive archeological project going on recovering the bone ...

    We drove into Santa Barbara and after walking along the sea front and up State Street decided that we could definitely move here....great little town!
