Nice site located on the seafront. 2 minutes walk into town. Pitches a bit worn but still ok to use. Facilities OK.
Good viewing place for the nightly Flying Fox migration (overhead)

Large open park with fairly old amenities blocks, needs maintaince in all areas.
Centrally located near the CBD, beaches and breakwater.

Another excellent location right beside the breakwater.

The sites are a bit messy though and not at all even.

The water "falls" out of the shower heads - terrible pressure - but at least the heads are movable.

Nice bbq area and the amenities block is so close to the camp area

Drop on, to be more precise - that's cyclone Debbie! The weather is currently moving towards us from the north as the tail of the cyclone makes its way down the coast. As a result, we decided to stay put in Port Macquarie which has the added advantage of us being able to visit the Koala hospital for feeding time this afternoon at 3pm.

It was an interesting day today. We set off sharp today (09:30) and drove for 2 hours to Wingham. According to "Uncle Google" there is a bush trail and a troop of flying foxes is residing there.

Arrive in Wingham and notice a "Road Closed" sign across the access road to the bush trail. Ask in the museum ifthe trail is still open and were …

Very much looking forward to getting away in the van and have some time off. It takes quite a while to pack the van with enough clothes and blankets plus the gadgets, this time I have fitted towing mirrors to the car to try and get a better rear view. Traffic was light heading out but there is talk on radio of a truck accident and road closure at …

Funny how Australia - a bloody huge continent stretching for mile upon endless mile - can be shrunk into somewhere the size of the Isle of Wight. I'd just arrived in Coffs Harbour, home of the Big Banana, when I received an email from my favourite corporate lawyer Emma - she who goes camping in the Northern Territory with a Mulberry handbag and ...
