Port MacQuarie
I started the day with a nice brisk 20km cycle around both Tuncurry and Forster while Heather slept in.
Only a short drive today.
We stopped at a place called Kew along the way then - thanks to the advice of the info centre people - we came the rest of the way around the more scenic tourist road.
We stopped at a place …
Port Macquarie Sundowner breakwater tourist park
We left Forster - Tuncurry at around 9.30 and headed for Port Macquarie. We called into a little seaside hamlet of New Haven for a cup of coffee, but the wind was so strong we decided to make our way to Port Macquarie and the caravan park. On arrival at around 12.30 the wind was as strong as at New Haven which made the setting up our site difficult …
Cuddly Koalas
So I actually accidentally deleted the original Port Macquarie blog, so am re-writing it from memory a few weeks later. Very annoying!
Well we got to Port Macquarie after a beautiful drive (and some 'exploring' i.e. getting lost in the nearby national park) where we got to a cliff top and saw not only real life kangaroos but also we could …

After doing all the morning chores we decided to have a look around town and headed for the information centre to get the low down. Map in hand we took a drive along Pacific …
Day 65 Byron Bay to Port Macquarie
Today we left Byron Bay and travelled further south for Port Macquarie. We are starting to get a little worried about how cold the weather is going to be as we head further south. The drive was fairly good apart from the odd arrogant driver who does 80kph in the single lanes and 110kph in the overtaking lanes making it frustrating and difficult for …

Another excellent location right beside the breakwater.
The sites are a bit messy though and not at all even.
The water "falls" out of the shower heads - terrible pressure - but at least the heads are movable.
Nice bbq area and the amenities block is so close to the camp area
