Filled up at Pimba Roadhouse, topped up at Glendambo, 20c/l cheaper!
375 km drive. thankfully no excitement.
Arrived a CP, went shopping to get some meat.
Coober Pedy Supermarket the only one in town. The meat section included a selections of pigs' heads, trotters, livers, sheep livers and cow tongue, a truly offal experience!

No I didn't go looking for opals. I've been in Cobber Pedy a few times in the last 30 odd years and I have been out to the mulick (not sure on spelling) heaps a few times with no real luck.
As I was in the park early got a van site under the shade cloth which was welcome with the heat. Last time I stayed in this park (7 months ago) it was so …

Well day one began before it actually did, by waking me up with an ear piercing fire alarm in our hotel we were staying at before we left Adelaide. Since the only emergency situation I've had experience in is every plane crash on Air Crash Investigations episodes, I woke up hyperventilating thinking my bedroom was in a nosedive and we were all …

Exploring Coober Pedy

The kids wanted to take Den out for Fathers Day yesterday but as everything was closed we had it at the park. So guess what....the kids declared it Fathers Day again ( he is a great Dad and deserving so Father's Day it is ) Bacon n eggs for breakfast and then off to Faye's underground home. This was awesome and a must if you visit here. Faye's " …

There has to be something fishy going on in a place that calls itself "the world's largest land-based instrumented defence systems test and evaluation range facility". As we drive in I’m thinking Woomera, a dusty little military town well past it’s heyday, has all the markings of an X-Files style, major government conspiracy. What’ …

We stayed in July, a very busy time.
The owner checked us in & told us to choose a site. All sites are close to the amenities block, whick is large & fairly new. Had to pay $3 for a shower, but that is the case at every caravan park in town. The onsite pizza bar is great . Would definatley stay here again, & have alreay recommended it to others.

We spent 5 nights in Stuart Range caravan park. Apparently they are making changes to the main area in their park and they are currently using their "overflow" area for their current visitors. Well, they pack them in like sardines here! Some poor campers in caravans couldn't even put their awnings out because the traveler next to them was that close! The amenities were ok, 3 toilets and 3 showers (for the ladies) but one toilet and one shower was closed. One toilet was blocked so one toilet and two showers to cater for all those travellers. Not good enough - especially at $30 night with no water and you had to pay for a 3 minute shower. I have to say we were disappointed!
