... Fifteen minutes later, when we had been scheduled to arrive, the plane was still in our spot, so we remained waiting on the runway. It was never explained why we couldn't go into one of the several vacant spaces that we could see available, a little frustrating, but half hour later we parked up and disembarked. Then came the small matter of getting through US immigration. I don't think in all the times I've been to America that I have ever had anything ...

... bay. Before the channel, it was a 40 mile ride out into the Mexican gulf and then into mouth of the bay. The channel was only a few miles long and to the same point. There channel was cut through a twisting mess of waterlogged mangrove forest.

There are over 65,000 items Not on display, and what we saw was in marvelous condition with excellent English explanations. The museum is part of a large estate which included gardens and an excellent restaurant where we had lunch.

    Thursday night Gene's in-laws Otto ...

... exited and took a ramble around the jungle trail. The first thing I noticed about the jungle trail was that it was indeed a trail and, not surprisingly, quite jungley!! We followed the path of one of the rivulets past a compound that contained a variety of crocodilia.

Within a few more yards of this compound, Roisin pointed across to the bank of the rivulet and there lying literally yards from where we stood, no fencing or barrier between, was a 9 foot crocodile lying ...
