    Before leaving Bangor, managed to stop by Franciscan Friars' Bakehouse for sweet treat stashes (sadly, we are not Whoopie Pie enthusiasts, but the Friars had lots of wonderful other selections). Then found Stephen King's house...just as spooky as I'd heard it would be. Great gate out front with dragons and gargoyles and other scary creatures. Last item on the Bangor bucket list was the Paul Bunyan statue. Otherwise found Bangor to be on the "growing edge" ...

    ... that Portugal has to offer. One city calls itself the Venice of Portugal! Should be interesting. But first I will head 40 minutes west to Sintra a UNESCO World Heritage Site after that it is east to Evora another World Heritage Site with amazing castles and ancient ruins. I'll try to send lots of photos. Please remember this is all new to me so hopefully things will turn out ...

    ... pizza at Mr. Pizza down the road from the hotel and got gas right across the street as it was a reasonable $3.32 which was better than the $3.56 we were seeing around. Now we are all gassed up and ready for the morning. I hope that the weather is nicer tomorrow. It is terribly gloomy and trying to protect my camera from the rain was not fun. It is also hard to drive in the mountains with so much fog and low visibility. ...

    ... clutch was acting strangely. The clutch pedal was getting stuck and the stick would resist going into gear. Ben did his best to keep the car in gear and not come to complete stops. Once, we stopped the car on the top of a hill and in order to get the clutch to work, we had to roll the car and pop the stick into the gear. It was something from a movie...I never realized people actually did this!

    Luckily, there were very few cars on the road for the next 2 hours before ...
