    ... Welcome to New Hampshire! We won't be here long though as we are just passing through. There are great little towns here and I love the houses and White Birch Trees!

    ... noticed as we drove in to downtown Gorham was the railroad museum. Unfortunately it was closed by the time we got here. The rail line here is ex Grand Trunk. Now it's a G & W property, the St. Lawrence and Atlantic RR. I was told that trains run sporadically.     ... passing through. We've had a few people treat us as oddities as we have been rather off the beaten track and not sticking to the normal touristy routes. We are now stopping overnight at a motel in Gorham in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. After we go up to PEI and Nova Scotia we will be returning to this region for a couple of days.     ... the area without tourists backing up traffic and walking everywhere. They are why this area weathered the economic crash much better then other Maine towns we have seen in our travels. One two highways we counted all of the houses we saw and noted the ones falling down and abandoned and it was close to 40%. Yesterday driving we noticed that a town either looked like it was thriving or dying-not in between.
