At our first night at an airbnb, we were made to feel very welcome by Vicki and Buddy, they showed us to a very lovely large bedroom with an onsuite. Having slept very well the next morning we left early for Gatlinburg, the second attempt! No short cuts, no scenic routes just the Interstate all the way. We had to pass through Pigeon Forge and we were amazed by the buildings ( if you can call them that ). A play ground ...

... was a great ride. I had a much more fun ride than yesterday; we all did. I think it was probably a mixture of having rode it once and also that we were on the inside for much of the ride today so I know at least that I wasn't as nervous. He said he loves our roads and his wife and he did Rte 66 a ...

In Pigeon forge, what once was a cow path is a busy honkytonk of amusement and hotel/motel/restaurants and fun. Dolly World isn't even visible from the main drag. I will have to come back to actually check it out.

As I was riding today, I was hoping that this effort will actually change ...

As we were just about to leave the park boundaries we saw a spot on the river that had a bunch of people on inner tubes. We stopped and turned around to get a picture and take in the sights. We also snapped a picture of the park entrance sign since we missed it coming into the park earlier today.

This area of the river was wider and smoother than anywhere else that we saw, so it was naturally the place to do some tubing. As we went further ...

... About 30 minutes into Tennessee we saw a sign that warned of slow traffic ahead. Sure enough, as we rounded the next corner there were two lanes full of brake lights. Dang it. I hate traffic delays. We were slow and go for the next few miles and it was all because of a bridge construction project. It was pretty orderly and before long we were back up to highway speeds.

We got off at Exit 407, which had a lot of construction going on and only one ...
