      Mmh, nun sind drei Wochen Südinsel rum und es geht schon wieder mit der Fähre gen Norden. Der Queen Charlotte Sound zeigt sich zum Abschied von seiner besten Seite. Auf der Überfahrt auf einem polnischen Schiff ist soviel Nebel aufgezogen, dass Wellington nicht zu sehen ist und wir länger auf der Fähre bleiben.

      The area surrounding Blenheim is New Zealand's largest wine making region, and as we were in the area we thought it would be rude not to sample some of the local vintages. Negar heroically volunteered to drive so we could visit of a couple of highly recommended vineyards (or vineries according to Negar!) a bit of a drive out of town.       We are living quite close to the river and the Wither Hills Farm Park which is a range of hills covered in walking tracks looping and weaving around them. We have walked some of the river track and a couple of the hill tracks, and once a combination of the two. On Saturday we did a longer walk up to the hill ridge where views of the distant snow capped mountains could be seen. This was a beautiful day, maybe even a bit too warm for ...
