... Our first stop was Union Station for lunch. They have converted this area adjacent to the ballpark as a great place to stroll and have lunch. We chose Hopdoddy's....a restaurant that actually got its start in Austin! Our fair city has many "firsts." They are known for their yummy milkshakes...Harper and Dru had an Oreo shake and Gavin branched out and tried the Bacon Maple Waffle Cone! I had a taste and it was yummy! No milkshake ...

Most beautiful stop yet.

... and unusual rock formations. Cottontails are darting everywhere and not scared away if only a few feet from one. We also spy prairie dogs amidst the boulders and deer in the fields along the hiway.
Of course we are once again off road searching for Mom's special State Park and so arrived at 8:30 instead of 5:30 but we did not veer off ...

... rechargable LED headlight. It's a beauty, with a good strong light and an Australian adaptor plug built in. I got it for a great price as well!!

The brewery served trrrific meals, which I finished with two giant scoops of ice cream.

The rest of the team, including my room-mate are still at the pub...... It could be a slow start tomorrow.

... the site and the owner were still waiting for us, and even a smile on her face which was lovely. Much better than many Australian parks we've stayed in where "you'd better be there before 6pm because we close".

It has been quite a long day, with an overnight flight, and a 6am arrival, followed by a 7 hour drive before we could even start to unpack all of our gear, make up our beds, and then think about dinner. I'm sure we were the last van to bed in the park around ...
