The flight from Anchorage to Denver was uneventful, and we touched down early. Rachel's connecting flight to Washington and Buffalo was at the gate next door so we left Brendan to farewell her, and went and collected the baggage.

Outside, we jumped on a free shuttle going to the Fairfield Inn as it was one of the hotels that the RV place picks up from. I always feel a bit awkward about hitching a ride if we aren't actually staying there, but the shuttle driver ...

... the lack of tourists meant that we made such good progress that we soon reached our turn off at Moran and soon after left the park.

The mountains and forests soon gave way to bad lands, broken eroded ground, cut with gullies and dry washes. This made for great photos, with some beautiful colours, but it didn't last long. The badlands gave way to prairie land.

... around 85 degrees and the hot tubs around 100 degrees. As we sat in the hot tub we talked with a father, an Arapahoe who told us the reservation is 3.2 million acres. He talked about his ancestorsliving in tepees in near this site and seemed very interested in us and Maine. He suggested a campsite near the reservation on the Wind River in the Wind River Canyon, at Boysen State Park.

... Kade took us out on the family snowmobiles. Danny went first while I changed my jacket and shoes into Nicole's much warmer items. Kade took Danny really fast up a big hill on their property and then sped down the hill really fast. We both even saw a bunny running past.
