Nice, clean well run park under huge Cottonwood Trees in a funky little city full of cafes and coffee shops! Try Minnies for soup and sandwich. Two bike shops in downtown, heck everything is downtown!
Being on the divide and having a grassy tenting area, this park attracts bikers and hikers from the Great Divide Trail.

    The Journey Begins

Hello from the small but comfortable Silver City RV Park.

We really feel like the road trip begins now because staying at the Maricopa house was something we have been doing regularly for the past 6+ years. We hit the road this morning around 9:00 for today's destination. It was a beautiful day to travel and traffic was fairly light. …

... the pavement ended just west of Drake. The last 8 miles were dirt, rocks, clay, washouts, and ruts. This was the road that we chose not to do a week ago since it had stormed so the night before. It was as prudent decision by the looks of the road after the fact; if we hadn’t slid off the side of the road into a gully we ...

... old corn on the cob stalks. Apparently there used to be thousands of these stalks all over the ground but people decided they would be a great souvenir to take away with them. To be honest ... we’re not going to lie – we would have taken one if they were on the ground. This links us nicely to the slogan used in all national Parks across the states ... ‘Take only photographs, leave only footprints.’ We’ve kind ...

    ... more.

The 30 second journey to leave pie, literally, lead me down more sandy roads. The sand bit me this time, back tire slipping out and me over the bars. It’s strange how you can be embarrassed even when no one is around. My campground was sweet; I collected wood for a fire, cooked dinner and purposely set the tent up without the fly so I could see the stars through the mesh. There was a meteor shower starting. Hailey’s comet was passing and even ...

We left Tucson yesterday after spending 5 days at Beaudy RV Resort attending the DataStorm Rally. Learned a lot and made new friends. Didn't get to see a lot of Tucson ... didn't have time, but did get out to Tubac to see the shops, and went to Trader Joe's. Got to Burro Mountain ... an old historic ranch up in the mountain forest. Visited at one time by both Teddy & Franklin Roosevelt. Was quiet the place at one time. It's ...
