While driving yesterday we killed our first bird via the camper windshield just before we cross the Mackinaw Bridge. The bridge is 5 miles long and was under construction. When we got to the other side we stopped at a little pull off to watch the sunset. It was still light for about another 3 hours. It seems like the sun never sets up ...

Made it all the way to Newberry, Mi last night and stayed at a Comfort Inn. These places are pretty basic, but they have a free breakfast so that helps. This morning's fare was waffles that you make yourself, eggs and sausages, various cereals, fresh fruit, doughnuts, toast, coffee and juice...hard not to have too much.... We both had dreams last night that replayed that accident from yesterday...i think that was to make sure we understood how lucky we ...

Got up this morning and couldn't decide if we would stay another day/night, but we did decide to stay. It was an overcast day and they are predicting some bad weather coming from the west to the east---we'd be driving right into it if we left, so I am glad we are staying another night despite the mosquitos.
