87 degree temps does not encourage fall colors! However, a stop at Ben @ Jerry's eased the warm day. Crossed from VT to NY via Lake Champlain ferry ($23). There were enough people on the trail to ease our bear concerns a bit, though we high-tailed it back to the car just the same! We were two starving bears ourselves by that time and we luckily found this great burger joint, Black Mountain ...

... out to a restaurant called Outback which is a chain we had tried in Florida that did really good steak and the most amazing bread, but it turned out it didn't open until 4pm on Fridays, so instead we drove back to the hotel, dropped off the car, and walked to a Japanese restaurant called Asiana House. It was very good, with very generous portions, though not quite as good as Rio And You in New York!
