    87 degree temps does not encourage fall colors! However, a stop at Ben @ Jerry's eased the warm day. Crossed from VT to NY via Lake Champlain ferry ($23). Ausable Chasm was worth the stop...and provided a scenic hike. Colorful trees amidst interesting layers of rock were amazing!     ... cabin our buddies rent each year around Labor day. After the weekend, returned to home base NYC for a couple of weeks before flying to Seattle to begin the next adventure.

    ... in Tupper Lake and dry everything out. Turns out they used to make a lot of tongue depressors in Tupper Lake. Also took the opportunity/ made the mistake of going to see the movie Pacific Rim in a small theatre. Not much of a movie but so it goes. The roads and drivers in New York have been the best so far.     ... we were ready to eat some dinner already! Dave again came through, finding a gem of a pizza joint in downtown Burlington called Verita. Good God this was good eats! The Marguerita Pizza we had was so rustic and tasty with mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil and parmesan cheese on a out-of-this-world crust.
