... delightful village, similar in lots of ways to South Australia's Hahndorf, or Washington State's Leavenworth.
As we turned into the main street, I asked if it was possible to go on a horse drawn carriage ride. So to my delight we only had a 10 minute wait till one was available.

Our driver owned Ebony the lovely big horse, and as we ambled through the village, she told us lots of different tales plus pointed ...

... s wifi, we saw that McDonald's was not in walking distance. Meanwhile fireworks were on show, so we dashed back in front of our hotel for photos. After that we grabbed the keys and headed to the car. We were determined to get our Maccas! After some confusion with the directions, we got safely there and back and by that time were ready to crash! Not before a stop to a mini mart, however, resulting in 'candy' for them and chocolate for me!

... The spray at the bottom of the falls themselves varies, but sometimes obscures much of the water fall, an achievement in itself. Some of the vantage points were out of action, walkways not maintained in winter, but the main footpath round the top gives a great view. If you want to go further, the maid of the mist sails in closer to get you wet, behind the falls lets you walk in behind, the fury of the falls takes you elsewhere and the Skylon, with its bulbous yellow ...
