... can truly appreciate the beauty of this. We signed up for the tour and wandered around a bit while we waited. The grounds were gorgeous with beautiful flowers and ivy growing all over the aging buildings. The tour was really enjoyable, with a very dry and to the point tour guide. She was no nonsense and straight to the facts, which is my favorite type of tour guide - no cute questions or lame jokes. After the tour, we enjoyed our free tastings ...

I met a few of the locals as we stood in line for refreshments and sat together, and found myself welcomed warmly. One sweet gal, I guess about 70ish, told me her name was Raspberry, and she had lived in SF in the 50’s & 60’s, as did a fellow named Lenny, who lived in the Haight. Yep, lots of old hippies and artists. I feel quite comfy among ...

... to camp in Salt Cove SP, but it seemed camping was full. As I found a place a few miles away to turn around, I noticed it was a campground owned by a local grocery store. I went into the grocery and happily paid them $20 instead of the state park's $40. Problem is, they might have spectacular views, but no bathrooms. This campground has portojohns and that's about it.

We will survive. Tomorrow we connect with San Francisco, a town previously only reached by plane for us. ...
