... to the Upper falls which are quite pretty with the different colours showing up in the water. A short drive to the Lower falls and a longer walk to see a series of cascades - again quite pretty. We did our exercise on the steps at the falls - about 100 at the first and closer to 200 at the second.

Pancake Bay Provincial Park was on a lakeshore beach of Superior. We camped within earshot of the shore and then in the morning found a beach section with picnic tables nearly in the lake. That's where we ate breakfast and mapped out the day. Seeing Superior's waters in the calm ...

Made it to Paradise, Michigan after 508.5 miles on the road.
Staying at Corkey's motel tonight. Got a cabin on the water with a fireplace and a great view.
Dinner at the local small eatery down the road from Corkey's. Not so great.
Up and on the road to breakfast at 0700 hours tomorrow morning!
... Lighthouse itself provides and in-depth history of U.S. Lighthouse Service job before they became automated. The light keepers house that is still standing contains many of the original pieces from the last family to live there and has some unique items. The docents were very informative and brought the place to life. Another treat is the display dedicated to the U.S. Life Saving Service which later became the U.S. Coast Guard. ... Bear Farm-bears that were rescued-mother dies, etc. Quirky place. Nice big areas for the adult bears but little cubs in large enclosure with just cement floors (owner said that the cement floors were mandated while the cubs were young). Owner was quite a character.
